  5. Install & Play a Game

  7. To do this:
  8. *  Click on the name or picture of the game.  
  9. *  Follow the on-screen instructions.

  12. Uninstalling a Game
  13. Windows 95 has a really cool feature where if u install a win95 
  14. product it tracks all the files.  So by uninstalling correctly u can
  15. keep your system clean and fresh.
  16.  
  17. To do this:
  18. * Click: start, settings, control panel
  19. * Double click on 'add/remove programs'
  20. * Select the game from the list that appears and click 
  21.   add/remove
  22. * Click OK to any other messages that appear.
  23.     
  24. The program will be removed..

  26. Note:    If u delete the game directory using windows explorer, the above
  27. steps will not remove all references to the game on your system
  28. until it is re-installed.

  31. Windows 95 Tips:
  32.  
  33. If you receive a message that you are out of memory error try closing 
  34. Fresh before starting a game.
  35.  
  36. Install DirectX at least once on your machine. This makes gameplay faster.

  38. To do this:
  39. * From the opening screen of Fresh click the Install DirectX button.
  40. * Follow the on-screen instructions.
  41. * Once DirectX is installed u may be required to restart your 
  42.    computer.

  45. For faster gameplay make sure your system is set to display 256 colours.
  46. Don't use 16 bit colour or higher, it slows some games down.

  48. To do this:
  49. * Right click the mouse on the desktop (not on an icon). 
  50. * Click properties, then settings.
  51. * The desktop area will have the current number of colors and
  52.    screen resolution.
  53. * Select  256 colors
  54. * Click 'Ok' - u may be asked for your Windows disks, and u
  55.    may need to restart your computer.

  58. Try using a screen resolution of 800 x 600, it makes a difference.

  60. To do this:
  61. * Right click the mouse on the desktop (not on an icon). 
  62. * Click properties, then 'settings'.
  63. * The desktop area will have the current screen size.
  64. * If u are on 640 x 480 click to the right on the line to take it 
  65.   to 800 x 600. 
  66. * Click 'OK', u may be asked for your windows disks, and u 
  67.   may need to restart your computer.

  69. IMPORTANT:
  70. If your computers display looks bad or puts lines or otherwise,
  71. turn your computer off and re-boot it.
  72. Press F8 when booting up and a menu will appear.
  73. Select 'Boot in Safe Mode'  When windows starts do the same
  74. as above and change the settings back to the originals.

  80. *  What is the problem? Include the error message, if any appears.
  81. *  What is the game doing when the error occurs?
  82. *  What type of system do u have:  amount of ram, CPU speed, amount of
  83.    hard disk free?
